Tiger Woods made history during the second-round of the 2024 Masters Tournament on Friday (April 12), setting the record for most consecutive cuts made at the major tournament.
Woods, 48, finished his first two rounds at 1-over for a 24th consecutive made cut, breaking the previous records set by fellow former Masters champions Fred Couples and Gary Player. The 15-time major champion shot 1-over in the first-round and even in the second-round, currently tied for 24th at the time of publication.
Woods, widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential golfers of all-time, has previously won at Augusta National Golf Club five times, which includes his last major victory in the 2019 Masters Tournament, and has finished in the top 8 three times, the top 10 12 times and the top 25 18 times.
Woods' Masters appearances comes less than two months after withdrawing from the 2024 Genesis Invitational tournament on February 16 due to influenza while serving as the tournament's host. The 48-year-old was involved in a single-car crash in Los Angeles on February 23, 2021, which resulted in open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of his tibia and fibula in his right leg, as well as other injuries to his foot and ankle.
Woods' 15 career major victories rank second all-time only Jack Nicklaus (18) and has 82 tour victories, tied with Sam Snead for the most all-time.
