Joining the Toreros for the 2012-13 campaign will be Aaron Michael "Mike" Davis, who has signed an athletic grant-in-aid, and Jito Kok, who has signed a national letter of intent and scholarship agreement.

Dee, who earned two separate All-West Coast Conference honors this past season, is one of 25 players from across the nation to be honored. Rather than selecting a first, second, third team and honorable mentions; the Mid-Major Freshmen All-America squad is just one team.
Fri, 02 Mar 2012 23:30:33 EDT - The USD Toreros (13-18) gave the No. 3 seed BYU Cougars everything they could handle but came up a little short in falling 73-68 in tonight's last WCC Quarterfinal. Chris Anderson paced the Toreros with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in the loss. Dennis Kramer chipped in with 17 points and 9 rebounds, and forward Chris Manresa finished strong with 13 points and 6 boards. The Toreros matched the Cougars in the rebounding department, 30-30, but BYU got a big lift off the bench from Noah Hartsock who was returning from a recent knee injury and tallied a game-high 19 points.

Freshman Johnny Dee put on a shooting clinic Thursday night with a career-high 30 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 6-of-9 from three-point range.

He was one of six WCC players to be named to the All-WCC Honorable Mention team, and was one of five WCC freshmen named to the All-WCC Freshman Team. Dee, who led the USD Toreros (12-17, 6-8 WCC) in scoring this season with his 13.3 points per game average, ranked first in the WCC in three-pointers made per game (2.4) and was fifth in three-point accuracy (.415).

Through nearly the first 14 minutes, neither team led by more than four points. The Toreros extended their lead to eight with one minute remaining before heading into the locker room at halftime with a six point lead, 28-22.
